In this contribution we present detailed studies of single walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) in water surfactant dispersions separated by size exclusion chromatography. We investigated length separated SWNT fractions by AFM, absorption spectroscopy and near-infrared photoluminescence mapping. The ultrasonic induced scission process can be observed by AFM.
