Three-dimensional (3D) ZnO nanostructures including tubular flowerlike architectures and radial nanorods were synthesized selectively at a low temperature of 60 degrees C in the presence of polyethylene glycol. The ultraviolet-visible absorption, photoluminescence and photodegradation behaviors of the 3D nanostructures were also studied. (c) 2006 Acta Materialia Inc. Published by Elsevier Ltd.
