We demonstrate a cascaded Raman fiber ring laser delivering a pulsed fourth-order Stokes component. Periodic emission of subnano-second pulses is achieved from the interplay between nonlinear polarization evolution and Raman cascade process. (c) 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
