Recent developments in the properties and applications of polyelectrolyte multilayers

Complexity and innovation in the application of layer-by-layer adsorbed polyelectrolyte systems continues to grow. In this review, we will recap recent findings on the application of multilayers at the biological interface, and as thin films for controlling wetting properties.
