Cupric sulfate pentahydrate is an efficient catalyst for a one-pot synthesis of quinoxaline derivatives. The reaction can be performing in water as well as ethanol. The procedure presented is operationally simple, practical and green. (c) 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
