The magnetic photocatalyst particles with a core-shell structure of three layers coating Fe3O4 core particles with SiO2 and TiO2 were prepared. Methylene blue, red basic dye, blue basic dye, nonylphenol, and octylphenol were used as pollutants. The magnetic photocatalyst particles efficiently decomposed those organic substances. The adsorption of those substances on the magnetic photocatalyst particles was found to be effective. The magnetic photocatalyst particles were easily recovered using magnetic separation.
