The imide derivatives Li4Ti4O2(NR)(2)(O'Pr)(12) (R = CH2C6H5, C6H1, C4H9) were obtained either by reaction of the amine adduct Ti-2(O'Pr)(8)(H2NR)(2) with lithium diiso-propylamide or butyllithium, or when the primary amine was first reacted with the base and then with Ti(O'Pr)(4). The structures of the imide derivatives are the same as that of Li4Ti4O4(O'Pr)(12) (= Li4Ti4(mu(2)-O)(2)(mu(5)-O)(2)(mu(2)-O'Pr)(4)(mu(3)-OPr)4(O' Pr)(4)) with the two mu(2)-oxo groups replaced by two mu(2)-NR groups.
