Well-crystallized zinc oxide nanoscale tubular structures have been prepared by using the microwave irradiation method which does not need any templates, seeds, and surfactants. The ZnO nanotubes have regular polyhedral shapes, hollow cores with diameters of 100-200 nm, lengths of 1-3 mu m and wall thicknesses of 10-40 nm.
