The wetting of sintered MgO by Cu2S and Cu2S-FeS melts is studied by the sessile drop method in gettered AT. Comparison of the wetting curves with those obtained using inert C-v substrates enables conclusions to be drawn on the effect of interfacial reactions between sulfides and MgO on spreading kinetics, equilibrium contact angles, and adhesion.
