Temporary negative ion resonances above the ionization threshold of zinc atoms have been observed in angular differential electron excitation functions and photon excitation functions of the lowest optically forbidden P-3 state. These resonances involve the opening of the 3d-shell or double excitation from the outermost 4s-shell and provide a sensitive test for channel coupling and electron correlation effects.
