Prevalence of long-bone non-unions

Despite the enormous progress made during recent decades in the treatment of long-bone fractures, fracture heating is still haunted by complications and above all non-unions. Non-unions represent a particular challenge, and the difficulties surrounding their management are frequently underestimated.
