A practical and high-yielding protocol for the dehalogenation of aromatic halides is presented. In the presence of palladium acetate, triphenylphosphine, and potassium carbonate, a number of highly functionalized aromatic halides as well as alpha-haloketones were dehalogenated with alcohols as hydrogen donors.
