A sensitive and selective electrochemical method for the simultaneous determination of dopamine (DA) and uric acid (UA) was developed using a pyrogallol red modified carbon paste electrode. Under the optimized conditions, the peak current was linearly dependent on 1.0-700.0molL-1 DA and 50.0-1000.0molL-1 UA. The detection limits for DA and UA were 0.78molL-1 and 35molL-1, respectively. Finally, this method was also examined for the determination of DA and uric acid in real samples such as drugs and urine.
