The self-assembly of homochiral salen-based 60 degrees corner building blocks and Cu2+ ions results in either a homochiral molecular triangle or a homochiral helix depending on solvent ratio (MeOH/pyridine). The process is reversible, and each compound has been characterized by a single-crystal X-ray diffraction study.
