New pentafluoro-lambda(6)-sulfanylacrylates (F5SCH=CHCHO, F5SCH=CHCN, F5SCH=CHCOOCH3) were synthesized by a convenient and efficient method. These compounds are useful as intermediates in the preparation of pentafluoro-lambda 6-sulfanyl-containing cyclic and heterocyclic Diels-Alder cycloadducts. (C) 2007 Elsevier B.V.
