A new and highly flexible procedure is described for the synthesis of alpha-amino-, alpha-hydrazino-, and alpha-N-hydroxyamino Phosphonates by reaction between trimethylphosphite and in situ generated imines (iminium salts, oximes, hydrazones, nitrones) by using phenyltrimethylammonium chloride as catalyst (1 mol%) in reagent grade dichloromethane at 40 degrees C.
