The composition of the essential oil isolated by hydrodistillation from the aerial parts of Ziziphora hispanica. (L)., g-rowing wild in Algeria (province of Tlemcen) was determined by GC(RI), GC-MS and C-13 NMR. The oil was characterized by a high content of pulegone (79.5%) and its antibacterial activity was tested against nine bacteria stains.
