In the case of chemical reactions with temperature dependent reaction heat, differences in the activation energy values are obtained using the Friedman (FR) and the advanced non-linear (NLN) isoconversional methods. The FR method leads to systematic errors when the reaction heat significantly changes with the heating rate (from 7 to 16%), while the advanced NLN isoconversional method that uses integrated values is not subject to these systematic errors. An explanation of this is given. For long time predictions, the FR method can lead to inaccurate results.
