Bimetallic sulfides N/WS2 (N=Ni, Co and Fe) with atomic ratio N/W+N=0.85 were prepared by the impregnated thiosalt decomposition (ITD) technique and treated under reducing atmosphere at 400 degrees C. The composition, morphology, structure and magnetic properties of the samples were characterized by energy dispersive spectrometry (EDS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM) measurements respectively. The Co samples reduced by 24 h exhibited the highest coercivity value. (c) 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
