Alternating copolymerization of Epoxides and cyclic anhydrides: An improved route to aliphatic polyesters

Beta-diiminate zinc catalysts are reported for the synthesis of aliphatic polyesters via the highly alternating copolymerization of epoxides and cyclic anhydrides under mild reaction conditions. The polymers formed have high M (n) values and narrow molecular weight distributions.
