A new complex Nd-2(hfac)(6)(CH3COO)(2) {12[ane]HN4(CH2C CH)(4)}(2) (hexafluoroacetylacetonate, hfac) was synthesized and characterized. Upon excitation of the organic cation {12[ane]N4H(CH2C CH)(4)}(+) (protonation on one of the nitrogen atoms of N,N',N',N'''-tetra-(3 -prop-l-yne)- 1,4,7,10-tetrazacycl ododecane), the neodymium NIR luminescence is sensitized through Forster energy transfer mechanism.
