This Letter looks at the peristaltic flow of a micropolar fluid in a channel. Five illustrative wave forms are considered. Exact analytic solutions of the flow quantities are developed under long wavelength and low Reynolds number assumptions. Besides that the phenomena of pumping and trapping are analyzed. The comparison of the various considered wave forms on the flow is delineated. (C) 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
