Queule (Gomortega keule) is an endangered, Chilean tree in the endemic, monotypic family Gomortegaceae. Eight polymorphic microsatellite loci were developed and characterized for this species. The number of alleles per locus ranged from four to 12 and the observed heterozygosity ranged from 0.2 to 1.0. These microsatellite markers will be valuable tools for population genetics studies and conservation planning.
