Two-dimensional aggregation of organogelators induced by biaxial hydrogen-bonding gives supramolecular nanosheets

Ask authors/readers for more resources

Nanosheet gel structures are formed by a class of bis-acylurea organogelator molecules, which self-organize into regular 2D sheet morphologies having planar dimensions of several micrometers and thicknesses (ca. 2 nm) corresponding to their molecular lengths. The 2D self-assembly is a consequence of unique intermolecular biaxial hydrogen bonding.
