The Copper Catalyzed Azide-Alkyne Cycloaddition (CuAAC), a paradigm of click chemistry has found numerous applications in the field of surface chemistry. This minireview discusses the reaction from a surface chemist's perspective. Specific advantages, limitations, and surface related concerns are discussed. We review the types of solid surfaces that have been modified via click chemistry and conclude with several elegant applications.
