In March 2005, a high incidence of root rot and premature death was observed in a commercial peanut crop growing at Ban Ban Springs, Queensland. Neocosmospora vasinfecta is reported as pathogenic on peanut for the first time in Australia. Koch's postulates were fulfilled.
