The measurement of machining parameters is an essential requirement. Since metal cutting mechanics is quite complicated, it is very difficult to develop a comprehensive model which involves all cutting parameters affecting machining variables. In this study, machining variables such as cutting forces, tool tip temperature, and surface roughness are measured during turning of Adamite. The effects of cutting parameters such as approaching angle, speed, feed, and depth of cut on machining variables are evaluated. This paper outlines an approach to quantify specific relationships between cutting parameters and machining variables. The data are analysed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and finally optimum cutting parameters are obtained.
