The motion of hydrogen in a variety of complexes in ZnO is studied by stress-induced dichroism. The defects investigated are Cu-H and Cu-H-2, the Zn vacancy passivated by two hydrogen atoms, and a complex resulting in an IR absorption line at 3326cm(-1). The hydrogen movement in these complexes is related to the hydrogen diffusion in ZnO. In addition a new microscopic model for the 3326cm(-1) line is proposed. (c) 2007 Elsevier B.V.
