The problem of synthesis of homogeneous anisotropic turbulent fields with prescribed autocorrelation functions is solved using the method of random spots method (Commun. Numer Meth. Engng 2007; 23:35-43). Every spot has an inner distribution f of a velocity component. The resulting velocity field is found as a sum of contributions from all spots. The inner distribution f is found from the condition that the resulting field has the prescribed statistical properties. The paper presents analytical solutions for f in the case of homogeneous turbulent fields. A numerical solution for the inhomogeneous case is discussed in (Commun. Numer Meth. Engng 2007; 23:35-43).
