Thanks to new evidence we are now a step closer to understanding how neurons produce amyloid-beta peptide (A beta)-the chief culprit of Alzheimer's disease. As importance of clathrin-mediated endocytosis to normal neurons has become clearer, so has its role in pathology of neurological disorders. Here we update recent evidence that endocytosis plays a central role in the production of A beta in neurons. Published by Elsevier Ireland Ltd.
