Recent progress in revealing the biological and medical significance of the non-neuronal cholinergic system

This special issue of International Immunopharmacology is the proceedings of the Fourth International Symposium on Non-neuronal Acetylcholine that was held on August 28-30, 2014 at the Justus Liebig University of Giessen in Germany.
