Vinyl triazenes are potentially interesting compounds for synthetic organic and medicinal chemistry, but synthetic routes to make olefins with triazene groups are still scarce. In this work, we show that vinyl triazenes are accessible by Pd-catalyzed addition reactions to alkynyl triazenes. Hydrogenation, hydroarylation, and haloallylation reactions allow preparing mono-, di- and trisubstituted vinyl triazenes in high yields, and with good regio- and stereoselectivities.
