A protocol for visible-light-induced radical dearomatization/cyanation cascade reaction of indole derivatives is reported. This protocol provides straightforward access to gem-difluorinated and cyanated 3,3'-spirocyclic indolines with moderate to excellent diastereoselectivity and permits the construction of two contiguous sterically congested quaternary carbon stereocenters.
