The catalytic enantioselective electrophilic fluorination promoted by chiral nickel complexes is described. The treatment of alpha-chloro-beta-keto esters with Selectfluor under mild reaction conditions afforded the corresponding fluorinated alpha-chloro-beta-keto esters with excellent enantioselectivities (up to 99% ee).
