Materials with small singlet-triplet splits (Delta E(ST)s) are introduced as sensitizing hosts to excite fluorescent dopants, breaking the trade-off between small Delta E-ST and high radiative decay rates. A highly efficient orange-fluorescent organic light-emitting diode (OLED) is prepared, showing a maximum external quantum efficiency of 12.2%.
