An effective way to improve the thermoelectric performance (ZT) of layered structured oxide materials by carefully choosing heavy ion doping and introducing metallic nanoinclusions is proposed. A p-type oxide material with remarkable highly improved ZT is successfully fabricated using this approach. Long-term durability at high temperature testing confirms that this material is a very promising p-type material for high temperature power generation.
