Nanostructured conducting polymer nano dots are prepared by electropolymerization of carboxylic acid group functionalized monomer in dichloromethane directly onto substrates. They demonstrate enhanced yields for the capture of tumor cells compared to smooth surfaces due to a synergistic effect of the capture agents and nanostructures.
