Paediatricians will encounter many babies and children who are the result of assisted reproductive technologies. Although in most cases, there are no adverse health consequences, assisted reproductive technologies (ART) are associated with some risks that are reviewed in this article. Conclusion ART has had a major impact on multiple gestation and the incidence of prematurity in many countries. Among singletons, there are also increases in prematurity, small for gestational age, congenital anomalies and perinatal mortality.
