The title compound, C36H30NP2+center dot Br-center dot C2H3N, crystallized from a CH3CN/OEt2 solution as an acetonitrile solvate. The central P-N-P angle [142.88 (10)degrees] is significantly larger than in the corresponding chloride and iodide structures.
