Reproductive efficiency of male broiler breeders declines toward the end of a production cycle. Introduction of males interspiking is one of the necessary practices for breeding flocks to maintain fertility through the life of the flock. In this study, influence of interspiking of male broiler breeders at laying period was investigated. The birds of the flock were divided to 11 individual pens and interspiking of males performed by 20, 21, ... , 30%. Performance of these treatments was compared with each other. Economic value of the chicks yield (hen housed), regarding to the description of economic value means, fractional derivation of profit function relating to the attended trait estimated based on per unit of product (broiler chick) by using profit function. Results showed economic value of chicks yield by one unit (1%) increase to interspiking of males from 25 to 26% was 9.58 Rials (9.58x10(-4) $US)*. Increasing in males interspiking from 20 to 30% due to significant increase in number of chicks yield (hen housed) (P < 0.01), but economic value of chicks yield increased from 20 to 27% interspiking and then these trends decreased to 30% of interspiking. Therefore, by viewpoint of economic values of chicks yield, interspiking of males is cost effective to 27%.
