Multi-peak visible emissions of Pr3+ ions under the excitation of the blue laser in heavy metal tellurite (NPZBT) glasses are exhibited, and quantum efficiencies for the P-3(0) and D-1(2) levels of Pr3+ are determined to be 69.1% and 26.5%. Quantitative characterization reveals that net emission power and net emission photon number in the spectral range of 470-1100 nm are 402 mu W and 1.2853 x 10(15) cps under the excitation of the 453 nm blue laser with 12.59 mW power, respectively. Pr3+ doped NPZBT glasses present a quantum yield located at 10-12%, confirming that the multi-peak emissions are available for laser-driven illumination. Effective multi-peak emissions under laser pumping hold great potential in promoting the production of new-generation compact colorful laser-driven illumination devices.
