For many years, the inorganic content in nanocomposites has seldom exceeded 10 vol%. Novel fabrication methods have been employed to incorporate high inorganic loading within the polymer matrix. This review reports recent progress in high filler-content nanocomposites with high aspect fillers and the various unique techniques used for their fabrication. This review will also highlight the high filler content nanocomposites, including mechanical, electrical, gas barrier and flame-retardant properties, with particular emphasis on quantitative information.
