A new fungal species, Obeliospora microappendiculata was isolated from decayed submerged litter. A Phialophora-like synnamorph was found in pure cultures. The genus is emended based on morphological features to include new non-setose species with subhyaline to light brown conidia. Obeliospora nitida comb. nov. is proposed and new records of O. triappendiculatta for the continental America are also listed.
