Zr (IV)-based coordination porous material, EDTMPA-Zr, was prepared and employed for the fabrication of sandwich adsorptive membranes. The removal of Cu (II) from water was employed as a model, and the static adsorption thermodynamic, dynamic adsorption/desorption and reusability were investigated. The results showed that, the adsorption capacity of the sandwich adsorptive membranes was much higher than that of conventional mixed matrix membranes. From the breakthrough curves, the relationship between the removal rate and the filtrate volume was obtained for the first time, from which the appropriate filtrate volume could be determined conveniently. The adsorption capacity did not obviously reduce even after five cycles, exhibiting excellent application prospect in the removal of Cu (II). (C) 2018 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
