We conceptually propose a high repetition rate (10 Hz) sub-petawatt (PW) infrared laser via yttrium calcium oxoborate crystal based optical parametric chirped pulse amplification. The pump laser is a diode pumped cryogenically cooled Yb: YAG laser. The designed energy is 23 J with a pulse duration of 55 fs, resulting in 0.42 PW of peak power with a central wavelength of 2.06 mu m.
