A catalytic process, involving the hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) of dilute alkali extracted corn stover lignin catalysed by noble metal catalyst (Ru/Al2O3) and acidic zeolite (H+-Y), to produce lignin-substructure-based hydrocarbons (C-7-C-18), primarily C-12-C-18 cyclic structure hydrocarbons in the jet fuel range, was demonstrated.
