Mesoporous zirconium phosphonates were demonstrated as highly effective catalysts for the heterogeneously catalyzed cyclo-addition reaction between aziridines and CO2 to yield oxazolidi-nones in a solvent-free system without introducing any co-catalysts or halogen species, exhibiting outstanding activity and selectivity, as well as excellent recyclability.
