The formation of the host-guest inclusion complexes of ionic liquids namely [BMIm]CI and [HMIm]CI with alpha-CD and beta-CD were studied by means of physicochemical and spectroscopic methods. Conductivity and surface tension study were in good agreement with the 1H NMR and FT-IR studies which confirm the formation of the inclusion complexes. The Density and viscosity study also supported the formation of the ICs. Further the stoichiometry was determined 1:1 for each case and the association constants and thermodynamic parameters derived supported the most feasible formation of the [BMIm]Cl- beta-CD inclusion complex.
