Nanostructured lipid carriers of meloxicam were developed and evaluated in the present work. The aim of present work was to determine the suitability of Nanostructured lipid carriers of meloxicam for transdermal application. The Nanostructure lipid carriers of Meloxicam were prepared by emulsionsolvent diffusion and evaporation method followed by ultrasonication method, where Lipoid S 100 and cetyl palmitate were used as lipids and Poloxamer 188 (1%) as surfactant. The MeloxicamNanostructured lipid carriers were evaluated for entrapment efficiency (EE), particle size, zeta potential. The Meloxicam-Nanostructrured lipid carriers gel was characterized for in-vitro, ex-vivo skin permeation and in-vivo anti-inflammatory activity. The EE, particle size, zeta potential of prepared Meloxicam-Nanostructured lipid carriers were found to be 83%, 120 nm, -14.2 mV respectively. Meloxicam-Nanostructures lipid carriers showed better skin permeation than drug in pure form.
