Servitization in the Basque Economy

The public sector should try to correct an under-provision of traditional services in areas such as the Basque Country with a predilection for knowledge-intensive activities. The indicators that the present research looked into are on the input side to service-based competitiveness models. The output side was not considered. An extension of this approach to look at both the input and output sides will provide more complete insight regarding how Basque firms make use of knowledge-intensive services to come to integrated product-service systems, and whether they serve them on the basis of service-type transaction and payment models.
